In which you get to hear my voice
Hey, guess what! Five days until the Games begin! I am extremely, extremely excited. I loaned the books to my friend, who loved them, so now we're all giddy and planning when we're going to see the movie and what we're going to wear and if we should dress up as someone.
My brothers and I have been doing a sort of countdown, reading a chapter of the first book every day, and we'll finish the day before the movie comes out. A few days before we read about what happens to Rue, I decided to come up with a tune to the lullaby Katniss sings to her, so that I wouldn't just be reading it out loud.
Here it is.
Please excuse the fact that my voice bears a strong resemblance to that of a goat's bleating. I was nervous, so my voice was shaking.
And since it's pretty much impossible to get more than about three minutes of silence in my family, even in this big house, I didn't have the patience to wait for another opportunity to record it. Which didn't bother me much, since I don't plan on becoming famous off of this song. I just wanted to show some friends of mine what the tune was like, and I figured, you might like to hear it too.
I got my bangs cut, by Maddie. They are lovely. Side-swept and with longer pieces framing my face.
I've been on tumblr more often than I'm sure is healthy. Sigh.
Baby is WALKING. Not full-time, but slow little steps every once in a while. I'm so excited and at the same time heartbroken.
What movie are you excited about?

Thank you!
DeleteBeautiful Gwen! And I too am so excited for the movie! I don't know when my dad and I are going to see it (who I convinced to come with me hahaha) but hopefully soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI've missed your posts, and if you care to share, would LOVE to read your fanfic! That is an extremely interesting topic to go off of. What WAS Peeta thinking?? Probably that his heart was breaking. Aww!
Thank you so much, Liz! Oh nice. I don't think I'd be able to convince my dad to go, haha!
DeleteSure! I'll post the link to my page once I've got it up. That's exactly what I was thinking, poor dear!
I am so excited about the movie coming out! I will have to wait for it to come out of DVD though before I can watch it though. :( I have just read the first two books, and am about to start the third! I love the books so much! I have always wondered what Peeta was thinking. How he felt about the whole thing. You have a lovely voice!

I know I've already said this, but you have such a lovely voice. I particularly like how it's not super high and squeaky, but much more melodic and soothing. Absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm really curious about the movie, but I don't know if I'll be seeing it when it's in theaters or when it comes out on DVD. I would love to go on the day it releases, just for the fun of it, but I'm sure tickets will be ridiculously pricey. :/ We'll see . . . Please do a movie review for it after you have seen it; I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. My main concern is the violence (hoping they don't make it too graphic) and the language (which wasn't really a problem in the book, but you know how Hollywood can be when the movie-makers feel like they need to relate the story to a "modern audience" :P).
Love you,
Elizabeth Rose
I am looking forward to seeing the movie. I loved the first book, but didn't care for the second and third! Too sad! :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous singing ;) Truly.
ReplyDeleteAnd we still have to get together. Possibly this weekend?
Gahh. I thought I posted. And maybe it disappeared.
ReplyDeleteBlrg.
Anyway. Gorgeous voice. Truly.
And we still have to get together: this weekend mayhaps?
Thank you Mary!
DeleteErm. This weekend doesn't work, and I don't think next does either...so maybe some time after Easter? Would that be okay?
Be kind. I ♥ comments.
