I'm that kind of girl

by - October 23, 2011

I'm the kind of girl who has a hard time thinking of posts that won't make people yawn.

I'm the kind of girl who will see a movie once and remember all the funny quotes from it, but is never able to remember things that are important. Like History dates. Or Math formulas. Maybe if they were presented in a comical way...?

I'm the kind of girl who realizes that she's getting a little plumper than she should be, but is unable to say no to food. I am so going to be huge by the time I'm 30.

I'm the kind of girl who adores little children, but gets extremely impatient with her own siblings.

I'm the kind of girl who just realized she has almost 100 followers, but also realizes that she doesn't deserve it, since she never posts.

I'm the kind of girl who dreams up all sorts of wonderful stories in her head, but is incapable of putting them down on paper. How I wish I could ask Tolkien some questions.

I'm the kind of girl who rereads books over and over and over again. I don't understand people who only read books once. What's the fun in that? If I love the book, I never get tired of it.

I'm the kind of girl who gets even more disorganized during a move. I spend hours packing my room, and instead of it looking tidier (albeit box-ier) it looks even worse than before. There's stuff eeeverywhere.

Except that it isn't art stuff. That's packed. ;)

I'm the kind of girl who despises modern war movies, because they have guns. Guns are boring. I'm the kind of girl who enjoys a good war movie with swords. Swords are awesome.

I'm the kind of girl who could sit for hours and hours watching a Period Drama movie.

I'm the kind of girl who's favourite love- related scene in a book is the reuniting of a father and daughter (The Mysterious Benedict Society), not two lovers.

I'm the kind of girl who can withstand a pretty large amount of pain without making any noise, but yelps ow! every time she bumps into something.

I'm the kind of girl who dreams about being a fashion designer, and loves putting outfits together, but doesn't dress in a "put together way" unless she's going out. Usually it's the first thing I see in the drawer.

I'm the kind of girl who plans all sorts of fun/useful projects for the day, but then realizes that there's no way they'll happen.

I'm the kind of girl who listens to the same song over and over to learn the lyrics, but doesn't get tired of it.

I'm the kind of girl who sits and listens to raindrops or a breeze, pretending that they mean something.

I'm the kind of girl who entertains herself by lying on her bed and dreaming up magical adventures for
herself.

I'm the kind of girl who became obsessed with BBC's Sherlock, spent three days trying to "observe" things, and failed miserably. I think I'll just stick to being a Watson.

I'm the kind of girl who's good at cooking, horrible at baking, but hates cooking and loves baking.

I'm the kind of girl who was taught a lesson this month, and that lesson is that I'm a lot stronger than I thought I was. I thank God for showing me this.

What kind of girl are you? Do a post about it, just don't forget to link it back to me! And drop me a comment about it!

Good night, dear followers.

  1. Well, I totally ditto on the #2 'I'm the type of girl"....I can remember ALL sorts of things, if they are from movies.

Once, I too spent all day, observing, but it actually worked for me. However, I kept at it so long, it gave me a headache...

  2. You know you and I are alike is so many ways!! I love to read the books I like over and over. I would so totally watch period drama for hours if I could get away with it. I have a ton of book ideas, but I never am able to get them down on paper. *sigh*. I love to make up adventures for myself, it is very entertaining when you can't fall a sleep. I have a tendency to listen to one song over, and over, and over; until I drive my family crazy.
My dad would always ask us how we could remember all sorts of nonsense, but not our school stuff. I think it should be put to song or something, then it would be easier to remember!

  3. Dear Gwen,
    We are so alike!! Especially with numbers 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 4, 10, 14, and 15. :)
I absolutely love re-reading books. My mama is the opposite. She doesn't understand why I don't move on to new and wonderful books, and I don't understand why she doesn't want to re-visit old characters and re-emerse in the wonderful scenes and stories. And..period dramas? Love them!

And for the record, I loved this post. Would you mind if I did my own version on my blog?

    God bless!

  4. All I can say is that I completely echo Elizabeth's comment. I could also just copy and paste it into my comment, which would do the trick as well, since I can relate to everything you both said. We three have so much in common. :)

    Love ya,

  5. Being a newcomer to your blog (I found your blog a few days ago but never commented), first off I'd like to say that it's nice to meet you! From your post, it looks like we have quite a bit in common. :D
"I'm the kind of girl who dreams up all sorts of wonderful stories in her head, but is incapable of putting them down on paper. How I wish I could ask Tolkien some questions." That sounds so much like me, I often come up with stories of characters in fantasy worlds and parallel universes, complete with maps and costume ideas, but when it's time to write all my ideas down, I've got nothing but writer's block. It's still fun to imagine though.
    You have a beautiful blog!

  9. Horray, another Tolkien lover!!!
We actually have the same quote on our blogs right now! :)
I identify with so many of these. I just found your blog today, by the way, and am excited to read future posts.
    God Bless!
P.S. I totally agree, I would give almost anything to be able to spend time with Tolkien! God-willing we'll live lives that make us worthy of doing so in Heaven! :)
